Campaign Story

Hi! I’m Archie, a 41-year-old British trans man who has lived in LA for 17 years. My lifelong dream, since I was a young child, was to grow up and become a dad one day. I’ve been more than ready, but now, the only option available to me is surrogacy—and it’s something that, in the US, is really reserved for the 1%. I’m in the 99%.

U.S. surrogacy can cost around $200k, and that’s my biggest barrier to fatherhood. But with your help, I can turn my dream into a reality. My goal is for 100,000 kind people to donate just $2 each or however much they can afford. If we hit this target, I’ll be able to start my surrogacy journey and finally become the dad I’ve always wanted to be.

My Story:

Since I was as young as 4, I always knew I was a boy and dreamed of being a dad someday. But as I finally transitioned much later in life, my dream felt out of reach. Surrogacy is my final and only chance to fulfill this dream, and I need your support to make it happen.

How I Got Here:

From a young age, I always knew who I was, but it took years to fully embrace my true self. In 2014, I revealed who I truly was inside to someone close to me, and their shame just affirmed my own lifetime of inner shame, made me hold back on transitioning for six more years. But in 2020, I realized I deserved to live authentically and pursue my dream of fatherhood. I realized I CAN have both, and that I DO deserve to live happily as my authentic self AND have a child of my own.

After having top surgery and undergoing a successful IVF cycle, I now have embryos ready for transfer to a surrogate. As I’m now 41, and have PCOS (which is considered a fertility-challenge), and am trans, I wouldn’t be able to physically or mentally be pregnant so surrogacy is my one and only chance to become a dad. So I’m asking for your help to make it happen.

Why This Means So Much:

Being a father isn’t just a dream—it’s a calling. I want nothing more than to love, protect, and nurture a child, giving them the freedom to be whoever they want to be. Even though my future child isn’t born yet, they have been present in my head and my heart throughout my entire life; every decision I’ve made has been about them. I already feel like I know them, and feel them, even though they are not earth-side – yet. Your support means more than words can express. It’s not just about money—it’s about giving me the gift of life, the life I’ve always dreamed of.

I am beyond grateful for anyone who can help support this journey. Together, we can make fatherhood a reality for me. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me create a family.

With love,
Archie
